Buyers bid on Valley homes at auction
By Dianna M. Náñez
The
More than 50 percent of the 88 Valley homes up for auction Saturday in downtown
The auction created a buzz for buyers hoping to score a bargain on houses with price tags ranging from about $100,000 to $2 million.
Lyn Hall, a broker with AZhomeplace.com, said he was pleased with the results he got on the 10 properties he entered in the auction.
“Only one property didn’t receive a bid,” he said. “It’s just a matter of whether the actual bid moves through.”
The auction was organized so that sellers get to approve all final bids. Hall said he would consider listing properties from his more “motivated” sellers in the company’s next auction.
“I think it’s a good tool in the buyer’s market we have right now,” he said. “It gave them an additional marketing tool and alternative to get some interest in their property.”
Terry Riley, a sales manager with the auction company, said he expected to have final numbers on the approved bids by next week. Information: (480)348-2243 and www.azpropertybid.com.
